RAGAN WALLAKE KITCHENETTE MISSION
Ragan Wallake KITCHENETTE is for the foodie, the healthy home cook who has a desire to elevate their common cooking and try new flavors. Nothing too fussy, just a general but passionate interest in good food, as pleasing to look at as it is to eat. It’s about finding unique pairings, a flare for the indulgent that is full of flavor and color, and a taste for something fresh and new. All this paired with an aesthetic for design, kitchen decor, photography, delicious products and even some beauty glow and health tips along the way.
I am a Los Angeles-based food writer, home-cook, recipe developer and photographer. After 20-plus years in the entertainment industry as a model, I switched gears and combined my love for food, eye for aesthetics and taste for all things delicious by creating Ragan Wallake Kitchenette. It celebrates the beauty of food and features easy, healthy recipes with a gourmet twist. While I traded my stilettos for a spatula, I continue to celebrate my roots and all of the experiences I have had along the way, as they inspire my recipes and passion for food!
I began writing about food hoping to share a glimpse of the multi-cultural lifestyle cookbook I had always dreamed of developing, and it’s now a reality! (See SHOP to purchase Beauty In The Bite!) I took inspiration from my Eastern European heritage and a slew of amazing chefs and restauranteurs, and decided early on that I would also feature industry influencers and regular lifestyle profiles.
My work soon took on a life of its own – garnering recognition from major players, and becoming a brand platform. It is my goal to speak to a wide range of food enthusiasts and health-conscious eaters, with varying skill levels, from all over the world. All of the recipes I feature here are my original creations.
Beyond my work with food and recipe development, I am also a professional photographer, Midwest grown, West Coast-dwelling, dog mom and design and travel enthusiast at large. I am always curious and love to learn. I still hope to attend culinary school…one day.
